Privacy Policy

1. Who we are
CallMelo ("CallMelo," "we") operates the CallMelo AI phone receptionist and the callmelo.ai website. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices.
2. Information we collect
Account information: when you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile basics from Google.
Business information you provide: your business name, address, hours, services or menu, prices, FAQs, notification contacts, and the instructions you configure.
Call data: for calls handled by your AI receptionist, we do not record call audio. We collect and process transcripts, AI-generated summaries and classifications, caller phone numbers, call times and durations, and the order/reservation/appointment/callback details captured during the call.
Billing data: plan, subscription status, and usage (minutes). Payment card data is handled by Stripe; we do not collect or store your full card details.
Technical data: standard log and device information, and a sign-in token stored in your browser's local storage to keep you logged in.
3. How we use information
To provide and operate the Service (answer calls, build your dashboard, capture and route requests); to authenticate you; to bill your subscription and show your usage; to provide support; to maintain security and prevent abuse; to improve the reliability and quality of the Service; and to comply with law.
4. Call transcripts
The Service does not record call audio. It uses transcripts and AI-generated summaries to function. As the business using CallMelo, you are responsible for any caller notice or consent required in your jurisdiction (see the Terms of Use). We process this call data on your behalf to deliver the Service.
5. How we share information (sub-processors)
We share data with service providers that help us run the Service, under contract and only as needed: Google (sign-in), Stripe (payment processing — Stripe holds card data, not us), a third-party telephony provider (to provide and connect phone calls). We may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights and safety. We do not sell your personal information to any party.
6. Data retention
We retain business configuration for as long as your account is active. Call records — transcripts, summaries, and statuses — are retained to provide your dashboard history and to operate and improve the Service. We do not retain call audio recordings because we do not record call audio. You may request deletion by submitting a request ticket; some data may be retained as required for legal, security, or billing purposes.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your choices and rights
You may access and update your business information in the dashboard, and you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us. Depending on your location (for example, California or the EEA), you may have additional rights; we will honor applicable requests. Canceling your subscription stops the Service and releases your AI number.
9. Cookies and local storage
We use only essential storage needed to run the site, including a sign-in token kept in your browser's local storage. We use the public site for cross-site advertising tracking from trusted advertising platform Google, but the after sign-in dashboard does not use any cookies or tracking.
10. Children
The Service is for businesses and is not directed to children; we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
11. Changes
We may update this policy; material changes will be posted here with a new "Last updated" date.
